  43. DESCRIPTION
  44.  
  45.  NewIcons is a revolutionary enhancement to the graphical user 
  46.  interface (GUI) of the Amiga computer.  On an AGA machine, the 
  47.  NewIcons package allows users of AGA systems to view icons on
  48.  their Workbench, independent of the Workbench palette settings.
  49.  Icons up to 256 colors can be utilized on the standard workbench.
  50.  A comprehensive set of NewIcon images is included in the package
  51.  for all the standard Workbench files as well as several other
  52.  images.  The images were drawn by the artist well-known for his
  53.  isometric icon sets, Roger McVey.
  54.  
  55.  Included in the NewIcons package is DefIcons, which will display
  56.  the appropriate icon for dozens of different file types that don't
  57.  have icons attached to them.  Deficons recognizes IFF, JPEG, and
  58.  GIF files, source codes of various languages, packed file types,
  59.  mountlists, printer and monitor drivers, and much more.

  61.  Both NewIcons and Deficons work on OS2.0+ systems as well (with a
  62.  16 color icon limitation on non-AGA machines).

  66.     o  Icons can easily be created from IFF brushes using your
  67.        favorite paint program.  The icons will appear on your
  68.        workbench screen in the _exact_ proper colors, no matter
  69.        what your palette is set to (using AGA).

  71.     o  If you click on a "fake" icon, the Workbench "Execute
  72.        Command" field will have the user defined default tool
  73.        already typed in for you.

  75.     o  Fix that CrossDos icon to look like a standard NewIcon
  76.        image.

  78.     o  Unique icons for RAM disks and CD-ROMS that don't have
  79.        icon images.

  81.     o  Comprehensive set of NewIcon manipulation utilities to
  82.        maximize the appearance of your Workbench.
